Brandon and I took a drive along "The Ride" route today, and according to the Caliber's odometer (the official measurer of "The Ride"), it is 66.5 miles from Elk Creek station to Brandon's driveway.
The road is paved for the first 13.5 miles to the Clark County line. From there, it is a well maintained dirt road for 15 miles (to mile 28.7) when it turns to pavement again just before Kilgore. From there, it is paved right into St. Anthony.
In case you're curious, the ride from Elk Creek to Kilgore is largely downhill. There are a couple of minor climbs but nothing too strenuous. The ride from Kilgore into St. Anthony is quite hilly, but there seems to be more downhill riding than uphill climbing. There are a couple of climbs that will get the legs burning, but they will be rewarded with a nice downhill coast at the end.
